15 Jun Parenting is awesome…and hard.
Jaeda is a really cool kid. She plays fast, sleeps hard, and eats a TON. She loves to dress up in my heels. I love to put her bouncy hair in pigtails. She’s fearless and not afraid to get dirty. So much so that she needs a bath nearly every night. It’s fun to see the similarities and differences between her and Corban. She hasn’t had all the hospital visits to produce any sense of caution in her. Corban’s quite experienced in that department; I’m just hoping to get through these years without quite so many hospital bills!
But the hard part is in the testing and the tantrums and screaming fits. Typical almost-two-year-old business, but exhausting nonetheless. James and I were commenting on just how trying these last several weeks have been with her when suddenly I remembered reviewing my Corban journal from his 20-26 months. Nearly every entry included “Boy, you’re giving us a run for our money!” or “Shew, how much discipline does one child require?!” It was actually quite encouraging to know that we got through that difficult time and to see the (mostly) respectful, obedient, helpful Corban that we know today! We will press on in this endeavor to raise her to love and obey the Lord, and first that means loving and obeying us.
It is worth it!
