15 Jul The revolving door.
It was Abby’s turn to visit, so Ben brought her down.
And then he received a call about an impromptu soccer tryout for Grace
(yes, you’re remembering right that he’s already playing baseball!). So he stayed…
and we put him to work holding nieces, playing with nephews, and picking blueberries.
Oh. And practicing those mad soccer skills on our garage windows.
Sadly, our windows were not prepared for such an intense workout.
Happily, we got a super clean garage out of the deal! (Thanks, Ben!)
All Jaeda wanted to do was lean off the edge and touch the grass. Little daredevil.
Corban loves throwing the ball as high up the tree as he can!
I’m unashamedly getting Jaeda ready for her basketball days,
which if she’s anything like Corban, are not that far away!
On Saturday, the local parks department offered free canoeing on the lake.
Jaeda napped at Neighbor Anne’s house, while James went disc golfing
with her husband (also James) and Abby, Matt, Corban, and I went canoeing.
How’d Matt get here? We swapped him for Ben, since he and my dad came
down to watch Ben’s soccer tryout. Which, by the way, was quite successful!
We went back to The Berry Patch…since we’d already eaten or frozen all our blueberries!
Blueberry jam is finishing the sealing process even as I type; mmm…
I wrapped up the weekend with a much-needed haircut for Corban
(his hair is so thick; he has rings of sweat around the edges!).
Matt wrapped up the weekend by doing several household projects.
But they’re too good to just shove at the end of this beast of a post.
Coming up next!
Thank you, Abby, for changing diapers, helping with dinner, loving our kids, and overall being
awesome. Oh. And reading four books (or was it five?) in two days. That was pretty cool. ;)
Love you, family. See you soon for Jaeda’s birthday!
