01 Dec Of friends and playmates
I’m choosing to find joy today.
Everyday, looking for beauty around.
In mounds and piles and towers of blocks.
In goofy opinions of wearing hats all day.
(Neither Corban nor I understand.)
In reading books together and apart.
In photo cheesing and couch jumping and littles giggling.
And in aunts staying for so long that they miss some school days,
but it’s okay because their Christian-school teachers will always
advocate for family and make special accommodations for homework.
Sometimes it’s hard to find joy, but then I look through the photos on my phone
and see that joy is all around just waiting to be seized. It’s these joy moments that
remind me that God made big and small, heads covered and uncovered, the messy
ones and the cleaners, difficult and simple, and there is joy to be had in it
all.
