How to combat an angry heart.

How to combat an angry heart.

I lean against the wall and let out a day’s worth of sighs.

“What’s happen, Mom?” he asks, startled.

I give him a weak smile. “I’m just being angry. But I don’t want to be angry.”

He looks all around the room, searching for the answer. “Umm…otay…yet’s do a verse. ‘Children obey…’ oh no…umm… Yet’s do ‘Be kick ta hair.'”

I hesitate.

“You do it,” he prompts.

“Be quick to hear, slow to speak,” I start.

“And syow to det angwry,” he joins me on the last phrase. “Dat’s white! Good job, Mom. You not angwry anymore.”

God’s Word is power, sharper than any two-edged sword. And God used my son to pierce my bad attitude with it. Thank you, Lord.

Even more powerful when the three(?) year old says it and knows that it is exactly what you need to be quoting. Crazy cool! Yeah God!

2.5 year old. It’s exactly what I say to him over and over about his anger…and in that moment HE became the teacher. Wow.

He is good, and His faithful to His Word, which is already “not void” in Corban’s heart! Praise Him!
