29 Apr Writing’s in the family.
Corban and Jaeda have been feeling the work that comes with making money. They are starting to value their efforts, and, after several failed Dollar Tree purchases (failed meaning broke while we were yet in the parking lot), they’ve also come to appreciate the value of their hard-earned money…and that TJMaxx helps them stretch their dollars. (No affiliate links. Just life learning here.) He was so pleased with his latest purchase that he really wanted to thank them for offering such good quality toys. Here’s what he wrote (please also note my addendum;)):
Then we heard the news that our dear Bill the Lion from our zoo died. The kids were so sad. So, of course, Corban felt compelled to write the zoo with his condolences. (Are you sensing the trend here? ALSO, can I just say that this writing is without any spelling help from me. I highly recommend the phonics program we used this year for a first introduction to reading!)
And speaking of writing, the first copy of our new book, The Monsterbet, arrived in the mail! I didn’t cry like I did with The Shoephabet (I mean, second kid and all), but WOW is she pretty!!
We’ve had so many people ask about hardcovers (libraries especially) that we finally found a new printer who can print a hardcover book for under $20 (sheesh!). And here’s the first hardcover copy. EEEEE!
We’ll keep writing; Corban’ll keep writing; Jaeda will keep writing (her beginning writing is my favorite–scribble, scribble, scribble That says hi my name is Jaeda); and Liddi will keep poking and eating our pencils. I guess writing’s just in the family.
