Today’s my birthday!

13 May Today’s my birthday!

I’m thirty today. I’m not freaking out. I feel like I’m finally at the number that fits my life stage. No longer a girl playing house. Married (to the same guy!) eight years, three kids, own a house, resident of current town for ten years, visit family on vacations, get excited about kitchen appliances as gifts, prefer TV shows to movies ‘cuz they’re shorter. Plus they say your prime running years are in your thirties. Perhaps it’d help if I were running, but at least I know if I were, it’d be prime.

So I’m posting today about the ones that have come from me, the ones whose birthdays mark bigger developmental milestones than mine now, the ones I live with in the most daily way. I chose to put down my phone camera and capture them in better quality. I’m sure I’ll post in a few days here how we celebrated this big 3-0. But for now, my little loves.

Liddi couldn’t care less if I take her picture with a phone or a Nikon.
All she cares about is milk and now and dry and sleep. 
None of which was happening right at the moment.

Getting flowers to pose perfectly often ends up being easier than children. Plus, these flowers always bloom the week before my birthday and end about a week after Anne’s birthday. We’ll call them Birthday Flowers. Happy birthday to me!
