When Uncle Matt Came

When Uncle Matt Came

Matt spent half of his spring break with us, and boy, were we thankful! He took care of some handyman projects around the house with laser-focus. As in, he was only two days in and done with them all! Sooo I asked him if he thought we could strip and stain the porch floor. Hehe. Let’s just say that we started, buuut we quickly stopped after obstacle upon obstacle upon obstacle. (The biggest one being the rental shop wouldn’t rent me a floor sander due to the high humidity. Apparently, sanding during humidity splinters wood rather than sanding it. Sigh.) It’ll hafta be my summer project.

He also replaced a car handle! I can’t tell you how many times we’ve still rolled the window down to get out of the car even now that it’s been fixed. I’m super glad to open it from the inside now! Funny story. Matt left Wednesday. And Thursday the rear driver’s side interior door handle broke. Such is life with a ’94 Camry (make that a ’94 anything!), I suppose.IMG_0321

Don’t worry; we got some play time in too. Corban and Jaeda LOVED being able to show Matt our ‘hood, play at our park, build with Legos, read our favorite books. And James and I were super thankful for some odds and ends help around the house. IMG_0335

If a ’94 model is old, what does that make an ’88 model? Because I’m an ’88 model. ;)
