Meet Liddi

Meet Liddi

Well, I stuck to my promise and didn’t post until our baby was born.
A baby GIRL.
An 8 pound 2 ounce, 20 1/2 inch long baby girl.
Named Lidia Felice.
But we’ll be calling her Liddi.

Here she is just hours old.
Swollen and bruised but OUT.
We’ll save that for The Birth Story coming soon.

Liddi’s name is founded in two very important people in our lives.
Two very important women.
The ones who brought James and I into this world.
Our moms.

The Lydia in the Bible was known for her hospitality and was well-respected in her community.
The Lydia we call Grammie is a hard worker, is successful at whatever she puts her hand to, has a laser focus when it comes to big projects (but not when it comes to reheating her coffee…which has to be done multiple times a day;)), and loves herself a good surprise.

Felice means joy.
It’s also a variation of Phyllis.
And Phyllis is a joyful woman we happen to call Grandma.
Pleasant, easy-going, not easily ruffled, steady, calm.
She also loves her sports. And music. And Jesus.

It’s our hope that Liddi will model after these beautiful traits in these women as they in turn model their lives after God.

In 2010, we added Corban to our family.
In 2012, Jaeda joined 20-month-old Corban as our children.

And in 2015, Liddi was added to 2 1/2-year-old Jaeda and 4-year-old Corban.
(Notice that the sandals I wore leaving the hospital for the first two are represented in this most recent pic. They will never die!)

And here’s one more look at her. Pretty Liddi. Or as Corban calls her “Liddi Bitty.”
Mmm…we love her.
Like she-looked-at-me-and-I-started-crying love.
Like we-have-another-daughter-and-my-heart-is-bursting love.
Like I-have-to-stop-blogging-and-go-look-at-her-in-case-she’s-changed-while-I-was-gone love.

It’s real, folks.
Real love.

Oh, pretty pretty Liddi :) I love her name!! We did something similar with Brielle’s middle name. Riann is after his mom Lori Ann- different, but similar.

Can’t wait until I get to meet her in real life! Also, you totally get prettier with age :)

Ooo I love Riann…especially where it came from, how cool!

I always thought that about my parents–how much prettier/cooler they looked as they got older. Guess it’s hitting me now too ha!

Looking forward to seeing you Friday…and showing off little Liddi!
