19 Mar Kid fun is always messy.
Corban dropped something behind the bench yesterday and used all his mini muscles to move it away from the wall. Out, it felt much more play-on-able. But of course, in order to do that really well, they would need to remove all the baskets from underneath…and dump the baskets too, just in case their play looked too clean. Then the fun was able to begin to the tune of belly-sliding one end to the other. The occasional model posing found its way into the play. And then of course sitting on top and swinging your legs as far and fast and hard as you possibly can, which elicited the best squeals of delight for the day. Every time they play with something a little unexpected, I think to myself, You know, we have TOYS, real made-for-children-to-play-with TOYS. And then I think of the ingenuity it takes to turn a regular object into a new one, and I love their minds and don’t even mind the mess…so long as they clean it up afterwards.
