30 Oct Pumpkin Markering
I’ve been wanting to do something fall-y with my kids. And nothing screams fall more than pumpkins. While visiting an elementary school BFF over the weekend, her dad asked how many pumpkins we’d like to take home with us. And potatoes. And sweet potatoes. And acorn squash. All from his garden. The best kind of produce! So the pumpkins were donated to the kids. Well, at least their outsides. No, not carving, I’m not that much of an over-achiever. I thought markers would do the trick nicely. But when I looked for our washable markers, there were none to be found. It’s fine, I reasoned. I’ll watch them closely. We can use permanent markers, no biggie. And all the seasoned mothers smirk. Don’t hide; I see you there. Thankfully (yet sadly for him), one of the littles slept through our entire escapade. But three were awake. And fully embraced all that permanent markers have to offer. Also. Taking photos of children holding permanent markers renders my own hands rather useless in preventing marker damage. Only one pant leg, one real leg, and six hands were marred. Not bad, if I do say so myself. P.S. Aren’t these littles beautiful? Mmm…so unique, so precious, so silly, so loud. But mostly precious. No. Mostly loud.
