Education

Education

Public school, charter school, Christian school, private school, home school. We watched “Waiting for Superman” this weekend and started thinking about the type of education we want our children to have. It’s a documentary that follows a few students in a few failing schools, but it’s enough to get you all worked up about the American education system. While its current condition is worth getting worked up about, there are still many great things happening in schools across America (although I’m a bit partial to say that most of the greatness is right here in Warsaw, Indiana!).

We’re not yet sure where God will have us place our children. I (Sarah) went to a Christian school K-college. James went through public education K-12. There’s a huge homeschooling section here in our area. There are still plenty more conversations to be had, but this video provided us the opportunity to have at least one more.

That’s so interesting that you posted about this Sarah. Chris and I have had this conversation before… even though we don’t even have kids yet! He went to public school here, and I went to a non-Christian private school in Buenos Aires, so I have even less input about the american school system!
