Five Minute Fridays

Five Minute Fridays

Today is Tuesday.

But it wasn’t until today that I read a blog post about a Friday activity.

I don’t want to wait until Friday.

So I’m doing it today: writing for five minutes straight without editing.

Topic: Five Years Ago

Five years ago. When you’ve only lived 25 years, 5 years constitutes a rather large portion of your life–20%, to be precise. And thinking of who we are today, five years ago a lot was different.

I had no son to hold and soothe.

I had no husband to encourage and love.

I had no wedding to meticulously plan.

I had no students to care for and teach.

I had no diploma to show future employers.

Five years ago, I was a student, an athlete, a daughter, a friend, a worshiper, a reader, a musician…

Wait, I am still all those things.

With all that has changed in those five years, I guess there is still some the same.

Phew, the timer beeped at “some”! It’s killing me not to revise!

Well, on Fridays this one lady has a thing where she likes to write (or type) for five minutes straight. When the timer beeps, you’re done! This Friday’s topic was “Five Years Ago.” But…I didn’t find out about it until Tuesday, so…I did Five Minute Friday on Tuesday! :)

I love this idea! So fun. Kind of reminds me or our Readers’ Marathon! I want to try it sometime… Maybe this Friday… When it’s supposed to be done:)
